Arcot-street Chapel was built when the population of Penarth was just beginning to gather, and stood wind-swept and solitary in its conspicuous position just over the dock. Latterly, though the building was almost hidden by houses, its handsome front elevation was a noticeable feature in the view from the dock station. Trinity Wesleyan Church, Penarth, is an off-shoot from Arcot-street.' - Evening Express [135] [361] 16th March 1905.

During the Methodist period Joseph Parry and his youngest son William Sterndale Parry, 1873-1892, regularly held sacred concerts and recitals at the Arcot Street Church. - Penarth Times [101] 27th February 2014.
 
1905 - Labor in Vain - The Wesleyans of Penarth, Wales, held a bazar for the purpose of raising money for repairing their church, The day after the bazar closed the church was burned.Virginia Gazette [1241] [1240] 10th June 1905.
