The works consisted of the office block which was adjacent to the dock. Then there was a tunnel separating the offices from the works. The main machine shop was next, then a ramp up to the welding bay. Another ramp upwards and you entered the general machine shop where there we numerous lathes, milling, slotting and drilling machines etc.. Then another ramp took you to the apprentice school which was well equipped and had a wide selection of lathes, borers, planing, shaping, drilling and milling machines as well as a forge and benches for manual work.
