Volume Eight - Pre-Victorian to the present day - more aspects - Moments captured in time I felt some of the images that I came across during my research and some from my collection were too good not to include, although some have a tenuous connection to the main theme of this website, but I don't feel the need to apologise - enjoy! I think they had the only car in the street and father was a photographer. Sally moved out of Dinas Powys and resided at the Esplanade Hotel, but we kept in touch. On one occasion we had afternoon tea (silver service) together with lots of cream cakes and scones with spoonfuls of Chiver's strawberry jam, sorry, preserve, seated on the veranda overlooking the beach and pier. The hotel (allegedly was) burnt down in 1971 and replaced with a concrete monstrosity and the World Heritage character of the Windsor Esplanade was lost forever thanks to your local caring council &Co. |
