Volume Nine - Pre-Victorian to the present day - even more aspects - Penarth Dock Infrastructure - Building, Repair & Maintenance Aspects . . .

During my extensive research I found a number of documents and photographs which fall into the general category of building, re-building, repair and maintenance of the structures and facilities that make up the infrastructure of the Penarth Dock and Ely Tidal Harbour. I decided to add these, in no particular order, for additional interest and to illustrate the challenges of operation of the dock and harbour.

 

 

Aspect No. 1 - Taff Vale Railway - Penarth Dock - Plan of New North Jetty - 1920 - 1921.

The jetty and piers at the entrance to Penarth Dock as shown within two OS maps surveyed in the years 1878-79 contrasted with a revised version of 1915.
