1930's - Esplanade & Pier Pavilion, Penarth - A postcard view dating from c.1930 which captures the essence of the resort with its wide esplanade and pier but lurking in the gap between the pier pavilion and Penarth Headland are those two, imposing searchlight relics of the possibility of war leading out from the Victorian era.
