1938 and 1945 - Two almost identical trade advertisements for the Penarth Pontoon, Slipway and Shiprepairing Co. Ltd. and its sister company, Hodges & Co. Ltd. or later, Hodges (Barry) Ltd.
   
1958 - 'Dame Caroline Haslett' - refitted as a cable-laying vessel at the Penarth Pontoon and Slipway Company Limited. First electrical transmission cable laid between UK and France c.1961.
